Don't
get me wrong, but usually when management talks about adding
something else to our network "to increase productivity
and improve communications", most of us in the IT department
don't break out cheering. New technology usually brings problems — it's
hard to integrate, hard to maintain, or hard for employees
to get comfortable with. SPECIAL
FX, on the other hand, has turned out to be really easy
to use. Since it's Web-based, there was no proprietary software
to install, and no OS or cross-platform issues. We simply set
up a postscript driver over our LAN/WAN, designated it as our
fax printer, and the staff was off and running. We pointed
everyone to the simple four-step demo that walks them through
the process. The result? Very few questions; it just worked!
The ongoing benefits are pretty good too. Since we
adopted SPECIAL FX,
we've had fewer complaints about computer viruses,
difficulties transferring large files, fax jams and
empty fax toner cartridges. With the time this saves
us, we're finally able to keep on schedule with maintenance
on our more complicated and time intensive systems.
Also, “v Courier
at my desk” is fully integrated with “Fax
at my desk” (another suite of services
from SPECIAL FX)
right down to a common log-in ID and password. |
